Which Engine Stand To Buy?

The cost was justified when you consider the weight of the material necessary and the cost of welding and coating...
Certainly if I were to get some made it would be no cheaper than that...
But what you have to consider is, you have a 'universal stand' which does not really fit a mini engine... you are buying a purpose built adapter which is the interface between that stand and a specific engine...

I can't see how those 4 little 'prongs' can hold anything!
Have you got any pics of your stand in action GW?

bit *rubbish* as i was wanting to slap the engine on it on sunday when it comes out, because im borrowing wilson1275's uncle's crane, so will ony have it for that day. i suppose i might be able to stick it on an old skateboard i have for the time being just for mobility. it is an invincible skateboard!

I have the smaller Clarke 3 wheel stand and had the same problem with mounting it, you can drill holes in the slotted plate the arms bolt to, but I dont know how well it will spin round and it is trial and error to get a nice balance point.
In the end I got an adaptor from Spitfire bob. Very sturdy and well made, it bolts to the alternator bracket bolts, yes its a bit of a heart stopper at first but worked fine, even with the engine fully bult.
