Turbocharging your existing engine will be difficult, the standard ECU will be no use whatsoever, and running forced induction and injection on a siamese head will be a nightmare. I know people who have tried and seen very little gain, if any, over a carb. And the work/time and money spent doesn't bear thinking about.
Granted, when properly done injection is far superior to a carb, but on our engine with a 5 port head the good old SU takes some beating.
On a 7 or 8 port head things would be much different ....................

if you can prove the age of the engine then the emissions test is for the age of the engine not the car


As far as i know this is true, so get yourself to the scrapyard and find a low mileage 1275 metro engine and Turbocharge that.

How do you prove the age of your engine?

Sorry if its off tangent but i'm sure i can go catalystless legally.
