Hi there,

I made my best attempt to set the timing on my car and im pretty sure its ok as its set to 5 degrees BTDC (i have a 1992 mini 998). I didnt use a strobescopic gun i done it statically.

But its still making a sort of splutter noise at highish revs... sounds like a sort of burbling noise. Its difficult to explain really but it sort of finds it difficult to rev whilst its making that noise.

Any ideas on what it could be?

You may find timing is still out..

That setting is very close to the setting when setting dynamically using a strobe. So you'll probably find its quite a way off if you check with a strobe.

Take it for a rolling road tune up! It seems to be the answer for most things on this forum
