Ok.. so checked the day my insurance was up for renewal the other day, and happened to notice that i was insured for up to 5000 miles. This wa worrying, as i'd thought i had 6000, and have now come close to this total. My question is this, do they check mileage? If i were to be in a crash *touches wood* would it be likely they'd check, and what could they referance against as i dont remember giving them a current mileage.
Basically... i've got abuot a month left, and i'm only going to be driving it home once in that time for xmas (at uni).
Ideas?

Well I wouldn't leave anything to chance as an insurance company will use any excuse not to pay out if they find something amiss.
So I'd ring them and confirm the mileage with them, even if it means extending the mileage slightly and paying a little extra.

MOT's are all on computer these days, so chances are they can access that system if needs be to give an indication of the mielage you've done.
Like mentioned not worth trying get away with it..

Meant to do that a while ago!! Its not like i can speed anyway!Unplug the speedo cable for a month...
When they say estimate, what do they mean? ie. up to 5000 (estimate) , if i was to up it to 6000, then do 6200, that'd be a reasonable estimate wouldn't it?!
EDIT: On a sidenote... Footman James. Awesome. Just got a quote for £300 for next year. Know who i'm going with when the time comes!

Well I wouldn't chance it and give them an excuse not to pay out. At the end of the day it'll be you who loses out. So ring them and get it sorted properly.
