Connecting New Battery Mpi!

hello everyone,just got meself a new battery for my mini,its a 2000 cooper sport if that makes any
difference,got a 096,managed to fit,do you connect the positive or negative 1st,is there anything i
should know as just tried it and the horn sounds everytime i connect the negative,is it something
to do with the alarm settings or something?any help greatley appreciated.thanks moz

+ve first then -ve and yes, it will be your alarm going off, mine does the same, just use your key fob to stop and reset.

*dont * get the polarity wrong as you'll blow the alt and the fuse-links tucked away in the wiring loom down by the starter...

Dave, you'll remember my Alarm no doubt ???? Hows your head, bump gone down yet?????

Still searching for the hesitation/misfire problem by the way - new throttle body (alloy) and lcb exhaust manifold to fit next!!!!! I think I'm gonna get the lad a Corsa and keep the Mini, just can't risk him in the Mini after all this expense!!!!!!!!!!!

a fine alarm that is too!!! - hehe yeah that bump has gone - gotta fresh one from a crow bar the other day though (dont ask!!)

Fuel pressure check been done yet???

No, you havn't got a gauge and pipe already set up have you? I was going to wait till I put the adjustable regulator on and fit a gauge to it as it has a blanked port for a gauge (so someone told me?)

Why would it only show itself as a problem when feathering the throttle, surely it would be more likly to be evident on hard acceleration?
