lol, black carpet and black headliner then maybe red door cards with black piping? i guess the door cards would be based off of how you do the seats. Red dash would be nice.

Hey there peoples,
Did some real work today and it was GREAT!

Weather was good all morning so i decided to do some panel work, not much but it's better than cleaning any day >_<
Pretty much just used some fibre glass to close up the rust holes in the floor and the aerial hole.
Then beat some dents on the fender, slapped on some putty and got the long block out... Then the weather got crappy and was invited to a braai... So i just gave it some black aerosol to protect from the elements and now i'm done for the day. I estimate(if there are no nasty surprizes) that all the bodywork should be top notch by thursday. Then i'm off to rent a comp and 2K the living s*&! out of her. Super excited but there is still alot more cleaning to do, got the grinder in the boot, cleaned up the speaker holes that some tard butchered and just removed the bit of wiring out the back. While i was busy with that the missus got stuck in with a wire brush on the interior(god bless her) so it's all looking good. Productive day.

On the downside... I haven't slept in 24 hours, still lots of work left, and i'm going to be hanging on the morrow.

Plus side... Progress, sun burn, 14h00 to 22h00 shift, amazing g/f, and besides the P80 marks the fender looks good, oh and i'm going to be hungover tomorrow!

Well here be the pics:

All sprayed, by no means finished but some good results

Clean(er) boot and primed up holes

That's all from me, hope everybody is having a great sunday.
Peace out.

Nice progress, I like your paintings on the Mini :D Good to have a missus to help out once in awhile. I know you were throwing around a few options, so I take it you have decided on a color then?

I'm torn to be honest... It's a choice of 2 colour schemes...
1. Entirely black(super shiny) with loads of bright chrome.
2. A dark red with black roof and black stripes with loads of chrome.

I'm not sure... Black will be alot of effort as i will have to make sure that the bodywork is completely and utterly perfect so nothing shows... Red will hide small imperfections.
I think once the car is primed and flatted then i'll decide on the colour. Black I hope :)

Well not sure how dark of a red you want to go, but there are a good amount of red / black combos so you can't go wrong with that. If the body work is up to snuff, then Black looks awesome if done right like you say. Just get the body work done right and you can go black, just make sure to keep it up though.

Another thing is with our rather temperate climate down here...
A black car with black vinyl and no A/C, under the african sun. HOT!
Well whatever colour it is, it will be awesome. You see a couple of minis around here, but i've never seen 1 in good nick. They're all mistreated rust buckets. It's a shame. :)
But mine shall rock hard tasty abs!

WOOHOO!!!
Going to go look at a compressor tomorrow... Can't wait... Should speed things up nicely.
Get to clean the car with ease now and prime at my own leasure instead of renting a comp and limiting the work i can do.
So super stoked right now!!!
Expect updates tomorrow... With pics.
Peace out

Happy new year peoples!
Hope the festive was good and the new year has been prosperous to you all :P

Now that some time and money has freed up somewhat i managed to finally get busy on the car today, and there was alot of progress...
Well, since the last update it rusted ALOT, due to me not covering bare metal before the holiday :withstupid:

So, i started off by removing all the rust that i caused :D
Then i fixed 2 dents in the RHS rear quarter panel.
Then i fixed the RHS front fender.
And started fixing the right fender all over again... You'll notice the black paint on that fender in some pictures on here... Even when it's all scuffed up nothing sticks to it, not primer, not putty, nothing... So i started fresh and it should be all finished by tomorrow.
Then it's flatting and priming the whole car.
THEN I SPRAY!!! Woohoo!!!

Colour is decided. Alpine white with black roof and stripes :)
Also got quotes for all the accessories i need, the mechanical stuff and upholstery.
Things are coming along nicely and i am now super stoked!

Well, was raining today... So i couldn't get much done.
But, as of tomorrow all priming should be complete, then hopefully flatted in a day or 2 then it's time to spray!!!
Went and ordered the paint today which i will be picking up tomorrow. Ford, Diamond white.
Well, this is me holding thumbs that weather wise this week/weekend will be good.
Peace out

Hello peoples.
Well, no updates as of late but i've been busy.
Finished priming and flatting and today i sprayed!
Looks pretty good. Just needs a flat and polish.
Not bad for a backyard open air(save for the gazebo) job i think.

Pics of the car:
