Hi there.
I'm in doubt in the choice of the crankshaft for my small bore engine.
whitch is better to find more power output?
the 997 crank has a little bit more stroke than 998 ( 81.28mm VS 76.2mm)
with the bore of a standard 998 (62.93mm) using the 997 crankshaft i will not lose to many top rpm?
can i get a little more torque using this crankshaft without compromise the so good rpm like a std 998 boreXstroke?
will the A plus conrods fit straight onto a 997 crankshaft?
Hope you can help
Cheers

If you use the 997 crank you'll need the 997 rods too. The 997 was never a loved engine and you'd be better with 998 parts IMO.
What is the rest of the spec of the engine you are considering?

With that cam stick to the 998 crank. I'd also advise nitriding the crank, as with even a half decent head you'll easily see over 8k rpm.
I know plenty of people with small bores running 286 cams successfully, 295 may be too much, but you'll only find out of you try it. the 276 is a great 998 cam, with propper ignition (mapped, not dizzy) the 276 is not lumpy and will give power up to 8k.
