Mine did this....fortunately it was still under warrenty so I sent it back to be fixed (although it took months...) however, I managed to skank a few free things off them like the power cable (which arent cheap!)

On ebay there is a few guides - I bought one before I realised it was under warrenty. I might still have the files actually...I'll have a look and send you them if they are still on the comp

The problem is that the heat from the processor warps the heat sink mounts, which I believe is held in place by pegs.

The pegs need replacing with set screws to hold the heat sink in place properly.

There is an extended 3 year warranty for this problem so just send it back. You dont need a box or anything just a qualifying serial number.
Mine broke last week UPS picked it up on Monday and I got an email to say they are sending me a new one out today, so overall it should take just over a week!

He's right, Microsoft will even pay for the shipping. You'll just need to get it to a UPS station.

All I am going to say is do not trust anything they tell you on the phone. And dont expect it to arrive when they say - although there is a chance that they are right it was VERY much the opposite in my case. I lost count of the times I had to call and got lied to a number of times about when they were sending it back. Took months. A complete nightmare. Worst customer service ever - almost as bad as Minisport

Rant over.
