Yes they can all sing very nicely

I believe its known in the industry as auto-tune! :)

I know auto-tune is good if the vocal track is off key but does it work wonders where the vocal is complete rubbish?

Anyway pub singers and cabaret warblers the lot of them!!!!!!!!

I would rather listen to something with a dodgy idiosyncratic voice if they put their heart into it.

Please don’t let me put you off buying any of the said artisits singles if that’s what you like

Haha, such a good analogy!!

Buckley's version is amazing and its a shame when a setting like x factor uses it for obvious commercial gain!!
Next they will be re-recording a watered down version of Johnny Cash's Hurt!! grrr to the corporate machine!!

Well I always thought she sounded like George W. Bush on helium anyway.

lets not forget that the x factor winner (what ever her name is), will have had no say in the choice of her first single.

at the moment, until she gains a bit of credibility, she has no choice but to do as she is told, and who can blame her. she won the contest and she deserved to, in fact its the first time the "right" person won, even the judges made a comment to the effect.

yes its a complete and utter sell out that all "possible" winners have pre-recorded the same song but the only person who is going to suffer from all this "tripe" is the one and only artist that ever deserved to win an "x factor"

simple solution, if you like it... buy it, if you dont... dont, and keep your opinions to yourself.

and for what its worth, no I'm not about to buy it and I'm not a fan, I'm just supporting what i believe was a genuine victory of talent over "bubblegum trash music"

Jeff Buckley's version is the best in my opinion. Tonnes of emotion and subtle, not overly produced like the X-factor versions.
The original is boring, sorry Leonard!
But Alexandra's version is no where near the worst, look for the Bono version on YouTube :)

Personally, the best version I;ve heard, is the Sherk one, done by some boke called Jeff.

I think is a good song, and needs a voice with meaning behind it.
Although I can't hear it for very long.. due to depressing the absoboule crap out of me, its still good.

As for xfactor, they must get nicely lined pockets :)

i loved dianas version of it  much better than alex's
she is a very talented singer and for someone so young although she's just another leona but i imagine wont be as successful

the original is by far the best as is with everything
