cheers for that, may just order from the us. they cost about £12 each here in the uk, which is ridiculous.

Err, what? So you'd rather buy them from the US at $40.00 each, which is about £26.00 at the moment. Plus shipping from the west coast to the UK? I don't get that.

Hey no it's not meant like that, nobody's been 'owned'. I've tried to help '86-Mini-Chelsea a few times in the past and I think we get on. I just don't get what was gained by ordering from the US, maybe the Mini Mania price is for a set of 4 or something but I couldn't see that listed.

standard imp steel wheels are 5x12, not 4.5x12. thats why they have slightly more dish than standard 4.5x12 mini steels (and why they were used as a pim, ping upgrade back in the day by savvy mini owners).

trawl the autojumbles looks for some suitable chrome hubcaps that'll fit (or just fit imp caps)

I was going to say imp wheels are 12" not 13".... should know my first car was an imp...

Look for hubcaps of the ado16 range of cars ( I think they fit 12" mini wheels and possibly imp )

You must not fit Imp wheels to a Mini - Dunlop who made the wheels for both cars issued a warning about this very subject.

Mini's require a thicker wheel centre (remember what happened to the early 1959 cars) and the Mini uses a 60ºINC cone seated nut whereas the Imp wheel has a spherical seating location. With todays better tyres the problems would be exacerbated.

ahh thanks for the warning! i was just after how to fit hubcaps to 12" steels really. didnt know you could fit them to standard mini steels so i asked about imps.
im sorted now anyway, ill go for 12" mini steels with moggy minor hubcaps. looks nice enough anyway.
thanks again,
Jono.
