standard 1275 i had when i first got the car did 120mph...... even the standard 1275 clocks go to 110 lol
What do the smaller engined ones go to? - The pictures I seen the clocks only went to 90mph. Are you sure that you were doing 120mph - Ive been building these for a while now and ive never seen a speedo thats even 95% accurate.
I have had mine calibrated and its 99.97% accurate, and believe me when I say cars feel a lot faster when you are actually doing 70, as opposed to 57-59mph (which is what most cars are doing when they read 70)
This particular design is a very basic one, but much more can be done. I would imagine if your car goes over 100mph then youd probably be looking for something a bit more interesting.
Its economics at the end of the day - the design above can be manufactured in whatever colour somebody wants very cost effectivly. It includes all the basic functions - Speed (will read to 199 mph) but wont show the '1' but believe me you'll know if your doing 120 as opposed to 20 haha, it has a 5 digit odometer (99999miles) and a 15 segment rev counter (400rpm per division), to 6k. If you add that up - it makes 64 segments in all, which is how many my display controller handles. too add the '1' for hundreds would cost a bit more.
A more advanced one could be built with all the features above + much finer revs, fuel, temp, boost, etc - infact the full dash but it costs more, so i figured this would be a place to start.
Im still looking for someone local to help me test it.
