The tool makes it much easier but it can be done with a flat headed screwdriver.

you don't need it but it does make things easier although the one I bought from minispares bent out of shape before I'd even done half of my windscreen!

Buy the tool! it makes life so much easier and its something to put in the tool box and own all your life. i used circlip pliers and about ten pairs of hands once, its just not worth the ball ache for under a tenner.

try frost and moss for them.

I used one with a roller, which was alot better then the ones without rollers.

I guess you must be using it wrong to bend one, as all it does is spread the rubber so the chrome can slide into it easily.

I always use abit of soapy water on the rubber to ease things along.

They are useful but the minispares one needs to be stronger! If you are going to use a screwdriver please be very very careful as you don't want to put several deep scratches down your new paint work like someone did! :D

Haha. Basically i just chopped the end of a screwdriver, bent a bit of 1.2mm steel rod in a diamond shape, then welded that to the end of the screwdriver. Ill get some pics up if i remember.
