Hi there, yeah the wheels are from Minisport, 6x10 ultralites with yoko tyres. The calipers are Minisport as well, 7.9, not vented tho.

The gearbox problem is sorted, well i hope. The problem was not staying in 4th and reverse, so it seemed like a selection problem. Looking into it, i remember fitting the rod change seal kit. Included in the kit is a rubber gaiter to stop dust etc getting near the rod change. In 4th and reverse, the rod change was pushing the gaiter against the new alu seal. So much it was crushing the gaiter and pushing the gear level back, and therefore outta gear. The problem is the o ring seal isnt pushed back into the box far enough, and as its not leaking, im not touching it, so off with the gaiter, and 4th feels solid and reverse stays put! Im happy.

Exhaust has been fixed and only thing left is to find a new cream gear gaiter for inside with foam insert from an MPI (anyone?)

I have removed the pressure reg and im still getting a stuttering up the revs. If i go gently its ok, but put my foot down and round 3000rpm, there it goes. So im not getting enough fuel, so the pressure reg is going back on and set up properly (with some settings from nick off here).

Finally a suspension setup and then MOT. After its getting a paint shop touch up and polish, then some shows before winter (i hope)

to be honest, i never really timed the project. It was a Sunday afternoon when i started it, never had worked on a car in my life, bought the tools as i needed them and just kept going. Its not 100% perfect (im a perfectionist) but about 95%,lol. Just enjoy it as you go along. Even as recently as last week im was thinking of selling or breaking it up as id just had enough and hadnt time, but when i think of all the late nights and early mornings lying underneath it, im happy with where i am.

I did 80% of the work on my back street under a green cover, no garage etc. If i was to do it again, and boy i will (girlfriend throws dirty look) ill have a big garage, clean tools and an extra pair of hands.

I do have LOTS more photos of various stages throughout the build, if anyone is interested i can stick them up, in order of course.

"The Monster's" looking very nice Tony, I really like the colour.

Just remember, when you refit your PBV only adjust it 1/4 turn at a time.

I should think you will be smiling from ear to ear when you drive it

Cheers mate

So a few pic's and a quick update. Passed my MOT today, get taxed on Monday and weather permitting take a spin in it. Still not fueling properly yet.
Heres a few pics from this morning, only number plate left to fit at this stage....

Aye Up Tony, I assume you passed the emmissions tests then if you have your MOT ?? was it showing "lean" at mid range revs? (I guess you have a CAT fitted?)

Once your taxed and on the road, give the plugs a good clean, go for a blast and at a suitable stopping point (layby?) switch off your ignition while under load at around 4,000 rpm (maybe in 3rd) and let the car coast to a stop, then whip the plugs out and look at the colour to see if they are running lean/rich/okay?

You must kill the ignition while running as above, don't coast and stop after tick-over or you won't get a true indication.

Also, DON'T for God's sake take the keys out the ignition until you have stopped!!!

I remember a mate of mine years ago taking the keys out before he had stopped and forgetting that the steering lock would come on, he shot up the path and took his parents house front fence down and it was his dad's pride and joy (Morris Marina - maybe a contradiction there???) :D and yes, I was with him at the time.

Looks great. How did you manage to attach the mustache grill surround? as Ive noticed there is no metal lip on the radiator side to screw the top bit too!

The roll cage is a show cage, only there for the look of it, to be honest though have been thinking of removing it. Think the car looks too bling bling sometimes lol
