Sorry dude but A reg can be 83/84

Cars were registered on the 1st of August every year, hence one reg letter could belong to 2 years

haha lol yeh got the subframe mounts and some 5mm thick steel today for the brace bars. just need to ge some box section and then im ready to go monday

also got 2 yokohama a359's fitted and they under steer more but accelerate faster lord knows much be a harder compound

gutted just done the maths i cant afforard the respray this month so if anyone wants to buy the clubman flip front off me ive got here clean ready to go

other option is fit it and have it in primer for a month and look like a bit of a tool

so if anyone wants to buy it you can have it for what i payed

well small update fitted the subframe mounts, the track rod and brush on the other side, the rear screen seal, and sorted the fog light switch

Why don't you keep the front until you can afford the respray.

Also, you must fit solid mounts for a flip front conversion, not poly mounts.

i know people who've done the conversion with poly and not seen much difference but maybe i was just being special

ive sold the flip front so for the mean time it wont be fliped

im not gonna respray now still think i will respray the front end

I think it's mainly for the MOT, apparantly alot of places insist that solid mounts are used.

Not suprising, poly is not solid, It's close,.. but does still flex.

The easiest way to see what happens without solid mounts is to turn the steering wheel from full look to full lock when the front is cut off and the brace bars are not on. Your subframe will move,... the solid mount stop this, the brace bars to do relatively little for stiffness and really are just MOT pleasers,...

Food for thought - some Miglia racers (certainly in the past) haven't even run Brace bars.

Don't forget that when you do go solid you must also change the rear mounts on the front subframe to solid ones.
