If you're selling it, will it have all the original Downton stuff with it?

You said the engine and RH petrol tank had been removed? Unless I've misread...

ok bit of an update

i now know the last 3 owners

last my friend i bought it off hes clueless

the bloke he bought it off (i also know) he removed the genuine pressed right hand tank and also has the original engine that was removed from it as the crank went
he has now told me the head has downton stamped on it and he looked into it and the engine number is a downton one!

ok then the bloke he bought it off bought it from a local garage where they bought it painted it and gave it tlc and the garage claims his had all the paper worth from downton and he thinks he has still got it?

That bit, or do you mean they've now been put back in the car?

It is very difficult to prove if a car is a genuine Downton without the original paperwork(even then it's difficult to prove it is genuine). There are far as I know records of the early Downton converted cars as when Bunty Richmond (the Wife of Daniel Richmond the founder of Downton) died she left instruction for all the paperwork to be destroyed and for their demo car to either be burnt or given to a museum luckily it now lives in Gaydon's collection.

In the early 90's (I believe) the Downton name was brought buy 2 brothers who produced a number of limited editions models/conversions The Club Sport, a GT Coupe and the final 2 models they produced before selling the company to a new owner were the Sport 40 and The Sport Touring there were only 5 of these final 2 models produced to my knowledge 2 of the sport 40's are in Ireland one is in this country (it's my brothers) not sure where the other 2 are. THere is one Sport Touring that I know of in the country (it's mine!) not sure where the others are but I was told that one had been written off!!!

I have a couple of links to websites with details of Downton cars if anyone whats them
