Hiya,

This is something we're wanting to do for our project too - but haven't quite got that far. I'm only in Bridgwater so if you come up with something I would love to come and have a look! :)

why not fit the latches and hinges on the opposite sides of the doors to normal, and mofify the rods that move the latchs to go the other way, also fitting the handels on the rong sides, ie left handle on right hand door, upside down.

Thats the my basic idea, but i think you should see what i mean?

I looked at doing it ages ago, can't remember what plan I came up with, but it involved using 4 doors.. alot of work but the result would be very tidy if done right.. Don't do it to the clubman though

You could, would need to strengthen the rear quarter obviously. Would look neater with internal hinges though.

It would indeed need strengthening and would look smarter with internal hinges. If i ever get round to having mine sprayed will ask my mate at the body shop what he rekons to do and cost.

Im going to fit internal hinges, but I have a target of about 100 days to get my pickup on the road for the L2B..

Although it seems like It will take alot longer.. but i will be employing a large group of friends and paying in beer and bbq..

back to topic... My only concern is the way the rear of the door is shaped, it won't be a simple hinge..

Why not? so long as the hinges are below the swage line it shouldn't be a problem, same as the front. You'd need to modify the door shuts, obviously.

Thought I'd Hijack this thread and see if anyone has come up with anything?
Anyone done it?
Having my car resprayed in a couple of months and thought this would be pretty cool if doable.
I have access to a welder (and a Dad who can weld) so what mods would need to be done?
How would you go about strengthening the rear quarter?
Help appreciated!
