Have supercharged my 1400 engine and is now running lumpy and cutts out i am thinking mixture and / or timing, but will let you know soon as i am getting it looked out
On another note i have changed the clutch to a verto turbo clutch and this is slipping i would have thought this clutch as was recommended this would be able to with stand the power??
the charger is a jonspeed eaton charger with 13/4" single carb..
really i am looking for advice etc..... anything to help
thanks in advance

Could be lean, you don't want to be melting a piston. Try something rich, like a BBZ. Also, whats your fuel pressure?
Pre verto is generally better, I have a fibre rally spec plate and a grey diaphragm and it never slips.

However, I bought a new clutch kit after mine started slipping, and it slipped more. After much scratching of heads I finally worked out that the newly supplied spring was very weak.
I pulled out all my old springs and found the strongest (the method I used was standing on them) only one would not move when i stood on it. I used this one and had no problems. It seems that there is a BIG inconsistency in the spring rates of verto springs.

i am not sure what needle is in atm, i have a feeling it is running rich on tickover hence leaving standing it eventually dropps revs and stalls
it runs reasonably well when running at the moment until slowing down comes into play, as the other day slowed down clutch in to stop and stalled.
also leaving the choke on to warm up it seems to clog up and i have to rev it a tad to about 2 thou until it clears...........
i am also a bit conserned over running temp, it used to over heat, but at the moment (about 6c over here) it runs a tad above 80c but when left tick over it creeps up .... i have a 4 core rad which i had with the 1400 STD engine
i have fitted a kenlowe elecric fan which works until i connect the sensor it comes with and then it dosnt cut in ... i have a thermostat blanking sleeve which i was reccomended that i have fitted
Im wishing i stayed with a twin carb setup now.........

i use an old heater matrix tucked up in side the wing seems to work well,
or put your heater on if you have to be sat still as this will get rid of some heat,
or dont run a bonnet.....lol
i drove to newquay without one kept it cool

Is this the one where the carb sits lower than the inlet manifold?
I was talking to a RR guy the other month and he was saying that type will always have problems as the engine is trying to Suck the mixture up bank, and when idleing there isnt a lot of suction and they will not run right

I have a facet fuel pump 5psi i think the silver top...........
you need max of 3 psi fuel pressure to much just floods the carb and causes low end fueling problems
have had 2 supercharger kits one vmax one jonspeed
ran stardard turbo verto clutches on both never had any clutch slip lowest bhp was 111.8 and 106flb toqure at the wheels
ran a 74 degree thermost temp int traffic with a 2 core rad and normal fan never went over 92 cel
have my original set up sheet some where if you want a copy of it

Just curious why did you go for two different ones? any difference.....
the clutch slipping could be the bloody orange seal but i wont know until its appart...
What do you mean by setup sheet, well yeah if you could send it or what ever that would be help full i am sure, im just getting to the point where it needs to be sorted rather than fannying about with it

So would a regulator be in order to slow the pressure down?
