hey i have got a 91 city e and im having probs with the carb, it is spluttering a bit :S

i wound the jet up to the bridge and wound it down 18 flats and since then i have just been making it leaner almost every day, does any one know of how many flats you should wind it down from the bridge ??

Pretty sure its 12, but that is only a base line setting to get you started, it doesn't mean your mixture is set correctly.

You then need something like a colourtune or gastester to get the mixture right.

As above, winding it to a set position is just tog et a baseline,

To get it closer you'll be needing a CO meter or similar.

You sure it's the mixture causing the problems? Could be timing, ignition system, dash-pot oil, etc.

well i think it is the mixture but not 100 percent sure, it has new leads and new points so i dont no what else:S

found out what it was thanks it was a cracked rotor arm :S

But now you've found that it means you've messed with the carb for nothing, and probably need the mixture setting properely

thanks 4 ur replys fixed now it was the rotor arm causing all the probs
