Engine Tuning

At the moment it won't run without choke, and doesn't run well at all.
The needle at the moment is quite thick, would making it thinner make it run better?
I would much rather just put a needle in it though than mess around with it, what needle would you recomend for a 1275, HIF44 and stage one kit.

BDL or BDR
Mini spares sais the BDL should be used with a 256 degree duration camshaft with standrad filter. Thats not my setup.

It drove on the hif44 but needs choke to idle, what do I need to do to the needle to make it idle? shave off the point or nearer the top by the spring. I want to take this car for an MOT tomorrow.

As for the OA7 needle, you'd have to do a google, or try www.burlen.co.uk
HTH.

I think its a standard 1275 needle, but who knows.

BDL or BDR
Will one of those needles work?
It's an SPI engine, running a HIF44 carb, foam air filter, lcb exhaust system. Slightly bigger valves.
Pretty much a stage one 1275 engine.

You can tell which needle you have because at the thick end it will be stamped on the side.
