my mayfair interior (which is definately original) has two tone door cards. cream velour at the top and vinyl at the bottom.

The "Spi" seats (although mine is a carb) like stted above have handles on the insides of the seats they also only tip the whole seat forward whereas as mpi ones have the handle to tip the back part forward and the handle/knob on the base of the seat to tip the whole seat forward.

The steering wheel isn't a original Rover item

(I wouldn't class velour/vinyl as two tone, just different textures, unless they are different colours)

You can buy these seats from newton commercial and specify a diff colour piping so that is probably where yours have come from as an aftermarket upgrade. Your steering column looks like it's covered in beige leather/vinyl too?
Can you not just ask whoever you bought the mini from?

Either way it is very nice interior! >_<

I bought it from my mate who bought it as it is so we are none the wiser, it has a matching steering column and parcel shelf too. I have looked at the Newton Commercial website and seen the different types available and the prices too! The seats are more than i paid for the car so i will just accept i got a bargain. Also someone mentioned about the handle at the top of the seats, well it only lifts the whole seat and will not tip the back if that helps any. I really appreciate all of your input. Keep it up!

Cheers.

The seats do look expensive! Just had another look at them(really are very nice!) and noticed they have an extra line of piping along the edge of seat cushion that my mpi ones don't have. Not sure if this is an option at newton commercial? Have seen some Wood and Pickett minis that have that extra line of piping on their seats and they also have the vertical seams in the doorcards rather than horizontal, also you could get colour coded steering column and door bins etc in a W&P interior. Might be worth getting in touch with them? You never know!

That means they can't be MPI seats then.

They could well be the original Mini 35 seats (they're the right design), which someone has had recovered in leather.

Just my tuppence... they don't look like leather to me, they look like vinyl, and looking at them I'd say for 100% sure they'd been recovered. I'm no expert, and they're lovely seats nonetheless, but that's me!
