Engine Rebuild Advice!

After finding out that after my metro lump has warmed up the oil pressure completely disappears it looks like it's time for a rebuild.
I've got a working gearbox, new clutch, decent head, carbs etc etc. Basically all the ancillaries.
I'm going to pull the lump in the next week or two and do my first rebuilt. I'm not worried about my technical ability but just wanted to seek some advice!
1. Has anybody got a list of parts I'm going to need? I'm putting my own list together but want to make sure I don't miss anything.
2. I'm looking at this kit as the base for my rebuild. I just want a decent runner, nothing more!
3. Are there any gotchas or really obvious things I need to know?
Can anybody point me in the direction of a useful rebuild guide?
Thanks in advance!

Ok so far on my list I've got:
Engine rebuild kit
Head gasket set
Clutch housing gasket
Timing chain cover gasket
Timing plate gasket
Camshaft lockwasher
Clutch lockwasher
Clutch housing oil seal
Gearbox to block gasket
Timing chain oil seal?
Crank half moon oil seal
Rocker shaft. - is this ok?
Is it worth fitting a Centre strap as the kit says it doesn't include it?
What about a centre oil pickup?

However in term of your list:
Head gasket set - use Payen BK450 gasket set
Gasket set such as AJM206MS
Clutch lockwasher - normally with the cam kit
Clutch housing oil seal
Waterpump
Fanbelt
Engine Mountings - use genuine ones!
Plugs, rotor arm, cap, leads etc
Rolling road tune (especially if changing bore or cam)

All ancillaries are brand new so I don't need a good few bits below, like water pump etc etc.
Just one more question (well there's probably more to be honest
Ta for your help!

If you were to rework your own engine you might not need a new cam & followers, depending on inspection or whether you wanted something a bit 'sportier'. If you wanted to upgrade then the Swiftune SW5-07 usually gets good reviews and as you'll see from their website can be bought in various forms of package or kit, the basic one including cam, followers, oil pump and lock washer: http://www.swiftune....shaft-kits.aspx
