
Overfueling?

if i turn the ignition on and remove the dash pot( unscrewing the black cap from the top) what should i be looking for?

thanks ethel. yeah i know the screws you mean. i have taken this offf other carbs and the piston stays in the dashpot and lifts the needle with it too. they are tamper proof screws too. like allen bolts but ill get them off somehow. so when this is taken off you should see the valve opening where the needle slides into , right?you need to remove the 3 screws from around the bottom edge of the dashpot - they might even be tamper proof screws if it's original and untouched. you can then lift off the pot and piston. Be careful that the piston doesn't drop out on the floor: if you remove the damper first, black bit you mentioned, the piston should stay sat on the carb.

How much would you be looking at for you to rebuild the carb for me phil ?
