OK getting pretty p'd off now - the second twin hs2 manifold I have bought seems to be wrong! This one has casting marks 12g242 and the first is 12g299 - both have an angle of 20deg when I need 30deg right? Both were sold over eBay as being for a mini but will not fit as right hand float bowl hits the bulkhead. Am I missing something? Anything I can do?

It appears you have bought another MG-1100 manifold. Googling uncovered the following Mini Mania thread that should help identify what you need.

There are plenty of the right type of manifold to choose from.
The most common casting numbers are:
12A309
12A661
AEG573

That looks exactly like the first one I had marked 12g299. Doesn't fit due to the angle - needs to be 30deg

Just in case the 1 im about to fit doesnt work...is it possible/safe to modifiy the bulkhead to get them to fit?
Failing that where can I source a brand new/2nd hand 1? lol

The one in the linked picture
looks like it is from a 1300GT which is fine for a Mini. It is based on the AEG 573 but is probably stamped 12G2463 or something similar to that.

I think by the time you cut and welded baulkhead and painted it you could have bought a new proper manifold................Link & cost?
found thier website just didnt have a clue what to look for!
