ive just bought a block today with the numbers 12g2790 on the rear. its an a series block with 11 studs but thats all i know. i just need help finding out what the block originally came from. cheers

put up a pic of the rear of the block................If its got tappet chest covers and 11 studs and a non drilled petrol pump then this could be a 'S' block ,,,,,,but pics would help identify.................

it hasnt got tappet covers. it also has an extra drain plug by the water drain plug on the rear. so hopefully that helps. will post a few pics later

well it's not a cooper S as it would have a AEG* casting number... sounds like a 1300 GT block from an Austin...

12G1279 - normal/non-S solid wall A- block afaik...
