Hi there

I am new to ( THE MINI WORLD ) just got a 998 auto 1990 which i am starting to repair.

Could anyone advise me on :

Fitted 165 70 12 Superlites and was told i would not need mods but both front wheels rub badly on the front of each wheel arch ?

Car was ticking over for approx 10 mins yesterday then a strong smell of petrol came from engine and the idle started to run irractically, so i turned her off then it took ages to restart, now seems ok ?

Any answers ?

Thanks

The fuel sounds like your float chamber is overflowing, left side of carb seperate bit which fuel pipe goes into, and probably another pipe which is the overflow.

Probably needs the float needle cleaning out. Undo the 3 screws, remove the top, pull out the pin that holds the float..remove the needle valve, clean out the cap .rebuild
