13 X 7 Problem

just trial fitted my 13 x 7 deep dish alloys and found that on full lock the tyres catch on the front arch. Ihave cut the arches as per mini sport templates but it still needs more cutting off also it looks to be catching the front bumper where it curves round.Is this normal i do have adjustable tie bars so is it just a case of making them both longer and pushing the wheel back.

I pointed this out to you yesterday in your postings.
with daft big wheels like these you do need to cut quite a bit off... also the quality of the arches then need to be considered as some copies also cause fouling of the wheel
The tie-rods are to sort the castor angle out - and if you want the car to drive at all nice with these wheels, you will need to increase castor - and to do that the tie rods will need to be if anything *shorter*. The rods arent there for making the wheel fit the arch.

I think that the templates are just a rough estimate, might need to trim a tiny bit more. Dont try and solve the problem by using tie-bars to push the wheel back, it will alter the king pin angle and make your ball joints wear rapidly.

Yes ive been thinking about that didnt realise that if i alter the tie bar and push the wheel back its going to rub on the inner arch at the back
But what about the bumber has anyone ever had to chop a bit of the end of theirs before

I do get what your saying but i havent fiited the arches yet just cut away as per mini sport templates i have drilled the holes for the arches a held it in place and they are fine its just i cant see why its catching on the bumper end

This has got me thinking im going outside to check this outbumper end? - if you have sports pack arches... this goes between the bumper and the wheel (theres a little recess in the arch for the bumper to 'fit')

I have 7 x 13" wheels and sportspack arches and my bumper ends had to be cut to fit. I didnt fit the arches but they are trimmed right back and i think the arch has been "stretched " a bit when it was fitted, even now on full lock the n/s/f wheel catches with weight in the car.Ok been outside and checked and i do have a recess for the bumper in the arch as you said. It just seems as if the bumper were it curves around and meets the arch is to long is it possible i have the bumpers on wrong (Ie the back one on the front and the front on on the back) as they came with the car new but not fitted
