my mini spontaniously combusted whilst driving down the road! smoke came through the front airvents so i pulled over and opened the bonnet. Found nothing so closed the bonnet to discover the entire of the inside was on fire! After i stripped the car down to scrap, i found that the wires around the interior light were completely bare, so i think they were shorting and smoke came down the inside of the front pillar and out through the air vent and when i opened the door to get out it caused a surge due to the interior light coming on and set the headliner on fire which dropped and burnt everything.

And do you know what the worst thing was? The insurance company would only cover me 3rd party due to the age of the vehicle. Me being naive thought "well whats the chances of it bursting into flames?" 2 months down the line.......... :)

Yeah i was fine. I was busy fumbling about under the bonnet as the inside was warming up! I did go mental at first. It was literally the end of the world! But a mate of mine was just getting rid of her mini's so i got her auto mayfair for free. Obviously i didnt keep the auto! I swear they work by witchcraft!

I know keep a fire extinguisher in the car!
