Why Do Other Drivers Have So Little Respect For The Mini

first off i i know i drive a small car and its not as fast as most modern cars and sorry if this has been brought up before but just had enough careless drivers
yesterday i was almost hit twice, both times almost had the drivers side wing taken off, the first time i was driving up the A303 going to a job interview in axminster i was doing 70 in the inside lane with no cars insight in front off me and then a mercedes estate roars up behind me in the outside lane and with no indication pulls in front of me missing my car by about 6 inches and even worse he then decided to brake without warning, i was doing nothing wrong, keeping to the speed limit and driving safely but almost had my mini taken out by some mellon
second time was on the A303 again, was driving behind a car at about 60 leaving about a car space between us and a focus over takes me then sits on my wing, indicates then pull in to the non focus sized gap in front off me, had no choice but to brake and the guy behind me starts beeping and flashing at me, not a happy drive
then today was in Yeovil on the hospital roundabout pulled out on to the roundabout and a massive range rover was in the lane to my right going the same way as me, got to the exit (its a two lane exit by the way) side by side with this range rover with me on the left and it on the right, all i can see in my window is range rover, my mini just about came up to the start of its passenger windows, then i see is side indicator blink on and it starts moving closer to me almost touching my wing mirror, if i hadnt of beeped the horn it would have crushed my car, the range rover finally sees me pulls in behind me and tail gates me for the rest of my journey
sorry for the massive rant, just so annoying as i dont want my mini written off by some ones careless driving and i seem to get less respect on the road from modern cars in the mini than i have driving anything else
anyone else find this

if one car is much smaller than the other a lot of peole don't seem to see the smaller car
people seem to have no clue where they are going and as a result make stupid moves. The amount of times people cut in front of me to make if off the motorway is staggering
In the Mini I usually just accelerate away

A few weekends back (I only get my mums MPi for the weekend) I was cut up twice over Saturday and Sunday and on Sunday a car almost rolled back in to me. A Xsara Picasso pulled out a roundabout after being completely stationary, just went for it. A guy rolling emerged out of a junction that was just about passing, I had to slam on. As for the rolling back incident, you might think "Yeah, it happens, few inches." nope, this woman rolled her big expensive Vauxhall back a good 6-8ft, I had to back up or she'd have minced poor Talula

Can I also point out the car I was in is a turquoise Discovery. not exactly small.
Alot of people just seem to think its fun to bully small cars though, especially when the person behind the wheel is young/female, which is unfair.
surely they'd think that younger drivers inexperience will cause an accident, and I'm sure they'd not be happy if said person accidently went into their car.

Incidentally, I had a most interesting experience today in the MPi I'm selling. It's only done 43K and I've just dropped a new engine in it that's only done 25k, and it goes like a bomb. Anyway, motoring along the A414 towards Hatfield and i'm in a hurry, when somebody starts tailgaiting me. All I can see is a pair of lights. I stop at the lights on the St. Albans roundabout and he pulls up along side me. I don't bother looking at him but have a funny feeling he's going straight over like me and is considering cutting me up. Lights change, foot down and, no exageration, I'm doing 70 (on the dual carriageway) before he comes up along side me. He then sits on my rear quarter for about a mile before pulling in front. As he does so I notice the badge on the back. It says............Maserati

Can't help wondering what he was thinking for the time he was pacing with me. Probably 'What the f.............?"
