The engine number looks about right for a 1990 Mini Racking Green LE: -

It's exactly right, the Racing/Flame/Checkmate series had F16 type engines.

When you say the chassis number relates to an earlier City shell do you mean the number in the gutter or the number on the VIN plate and V5? Do they match up or not?

WOW!!!! I WANT A F16 engine!! Must go like *melon* of a shovel! :withstupid:

(sorry my post is soooo unhelpful :) :P )

just to confirm, after my research last year i discovered that the special editions did NOT have special VINumbers and would carry a VIN from the car that it was based on eg. mini city or mini Mayfair.

the wheels on the car are not the ones that would have been fitted when it was converted, it would of had white ones like in the brochure.

I've never seen interiors like that before so cant help on that one :withstupid:

nice little car :)

Southern Mini days last year, i definatly Re-call seeing a Mini Blue star ( i belive this is a model made for the German market? ) With those seats, i remember saying to GingerJoe "ive never seen seats like that before".

So Awaiting comfirmation i'l see what i can find, but this could for-shadow somthing as to what your Interior is from.

This is one of those "BLUE STAR LE's"
As you can see it just looks like black leather mini seats, not the cream ones like yours

Racing/Flame/Checkmate models should have 'Crayons' interior trim, it's all available from Newton Commercial.

Close but no cigar, granted from the pics i've supplied i can see that it's close, but mine doesn't have pleated seats on the centre.

They are defo mini, as the mounts are std, unless it's had a leather retrim, I know that the personal plate is still live, and currently on a Lexus RX-300, which isn't a cheap car.(I'm gussing i haven't broken the law, honest!)

This German wiki has some more photos of the Blue Star, including the interior:

http://www.mini-wiki.de/wiki/Blue_Star

The wood trim is elm (rather than walnut), and it seems to have only been used on the Blue Star and Silver Bullet LEs. (Both from Germany, both 1995-96.)

I have a Blue Star, and I've been looking for replacement trim pieces without any luck...
