iv just put a micron carbon can on mine. it came with a link pipe for a 600 hornet i had to cut a bend out and weld it back up but it went straight on the right size pipe and the 2 bends make it so it is in the correct place for a standard exhaust. i got an oval can so the ride clearance was still ok.

Looks great, did it just join straight to the link pipe? Is the link pipe a 2'' or a 1 7/8''?

as long as the inner bore diameter doesn't go over 1.75 inches then i think you will be ok.
pic of mine - gsxr 1300, only put on because it cost £25 NOS and was the right bore size. its coupled to a jetex 2" middle box/2" system...
