its the hot air intake from when the car was fited with the big air filter :smartass:

it's the warm air feed.
with a standard air box with a panel filter warm air is pulled through there when the engine's cold to warm it up. When the engine's warmed up it closes and allows cooler air in to the filter

think you need some degreaser too will!

One that gets grease off! lol
i dunno! i actually use driveway cleaner and a small wire brush! seems to work ok!
i bet the autoglym ones the best tho! :erm:

im using that autoglym but i've gotta say it aint that great but that might be just because its thick in oil. lol

actually my head is the dirtiest part of my bay!
it just won't clean and i don't really fancy a pressure washer getting in there!
i wouldn't take the plugs out to clean round there just incase some carp gets in!
maybe you could find some industrial strength stuff and leave it to really soak in and then whip out a wire brush?!
i've found that tyre dressing spray (aerosol type) is great for blackening up clean hoses and plastics!
i've taken out my sound deadening too!

yeah im gonna be doing that soon but do you have to take everything off the firewall or does it go around the bits?

don't think you have to remove anything major!
you may have to move wiring and stuff
it'll come off in bits and pieces as it gets wedged under the brake servo and wiper motor and stuff.
look sooo much nice without it!

excellent, i'll be doin that then.
Have you added soundproofing on the inside of the firewall ie. behing your dash?
