What you determine a 'better throttle response' to be will be discovered once the carbs are installed - and will not just happen automatically, you will probably find that the performance and fuelling will be all oer the shop at first and only once the carbs have been set-up will their true colours be revealed.

With the exception of being more aesthetically pleasing and being louder than single carb - I'm going to go against the tide and say that you will probably notice more benefit from getting the car thorougly serviced and set-up on a rolling road than from slapping Twin carbs on - and you'll have to get it set-up on a Rolling road anyway to ensure they're correctly balanced and fuelling correctly.

They would be a much more worthwhile investment if you had some simple porting and polishing done to the head as well.

twin sus dont rev really well thats what they told me and there are alot of track cars there all with aly trumpets on the front and coilovers at the back

God they must really know what they're on about >_< "Su's don't rev really well"..... You should pop a copy of David Vizards yellow Bible through the door with "read me" slapped on the front.

The rule usually is if "If you don't know don't post"

There is a spell checker as well.

i mean for the 1332 post lol for 998 twin hs2s are the best option unless u got hif38

I really think you should read the question before replying.

Going on about coilovers etc isn't what the poster asked.

What actual experience have you had of the different types of carbs listed?

If you don't know don't post.

Your posts are just confusing and not helpful.

poster is jay by the way!

I did wonderas I thought 1.75 carb would be a bit big for a 998. I do have an HIF44 off of my 1275 cooper engine, but I also have a set of twin HS2's >_<

For the 998, from what i have read on here, twin HS2's set up properly on a rolling road by someone that knows what they are doing is the way ahead. Not sure on top end power gains as i was lead to believe it's more about throttle response and torque lower down the rev range, which imo is definately something that could do with inprovement.

Just make sure you give your car a thorough service before going to the rolling road, to help get the best results. I Flushed the cooling system, changed the oil and filter as well as plugs, leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap and coil. Rolling road took about 2 hours to do and cost me about £140 ish.

To be honest, you really need to do some work to the head before the carbs will be worthwhile.

However mine are soooo cheep that you could buy then now and then fit them when you're ready!!

Do it all at once and then you'll only have to go to the Rolling road once.
