What is the engine spec?

The only programable ECU that could work is CANEMS, if you are using the factory MPi manifold, there is no other option other than the dtandard factory ECU!!

I havnt recieved the specific specs yet, there being sent in the post with the invoice, I will post when they arrive. I have contacted canems for a quote on the advice of others on here but will this not work with the standard manifold? any1s advice would be appreciated as this could be a costly mistake

cheers

I have spoken to canems and been informed i need a crank sensor and tigger wheel, which iv sourced from KAD as a bolt on kit however they also said the standard injectors are only good for 90hp. which would be the best method to increase past 90, buying new injectors? or increasing the fuel pressure? or is there a better way? also the canems doesn't support the temp senor, can i get a stand alone sensor and gauage?

sorry about all the questions

another ecu that you could use for an mpi is the icon superchip.. i dont know if its fully programable but i know you can load diffrent maps on to it for diffrent cars and im pretty sure it comes with a map for an mpi from what i have read before it should give you about another 5hp

ICON Race is an ignition only device, and for £300 I would want more than 5bhp and a slightly better drive. The fueling is the biggest problem.

it wont work with the factory manifold!!!!

Going away from the factory manifold will get things working, mut when most think of MPi they think of the factory manifold

Hi!

I just found this subject very interresting, as I'm looking to replace my rover ecu by the canems one.

I also have a modified Mpi engine (1340)

Would it be possible for you to explain me which parts are necessary to install the kit? It's quite hard to find any informations or any subject about that installation.

Thanks

Aswel as the ECU, I've had to buy a crank sensor and trigger wheel, I chose to go with the full loom for ease of fitting as its a direct replacement and required no cutting into the original and then new 550cc injectors. I havnt finished fully installing it yet but the manual that comes with the ECU is quite indepth but easy to follow so no major problems so far.
