Oh dear I only just realised what day it is! Did you really fake that note on the page John? It's very well done.

Regarding Arrow, well that's maybe not such good news then.

I'd just like to add a Thanks to Simon @ Minispares for trying to get P/N DAM5922M up on their Site, but didn't quite refresh in time, and Martin of MRA minis for seed of inspiration...

Cannot believe I just read all 11 pages of this, LMAO

Any one else know the score on the bolts supplied with center main straps and four bolt caps from a majority of the major suppliers (excluding the Minispares items :dontgetit:) ?

Shall we start a new thread :dontgetit:

Wow, that was a long thread - no pun intended!

If anyone wants a tap to re-do their crankshaft thread I bought a 5/8x16 UNS tap which was about £65 (mini sport do one at £120) which I used after I really mashed the threads after using a puller that had the end bit missing :P which I was going to put on eBay.

I'd accept £30 for it.

Only 5/8" UNS is the wrong tap, Mini Sport have already been informed and have also been given an exceptional trade price offer, but alas, are not interested in selling the correct tap at this time :P

Well it did the trick with my well and truly knackered threads, new bolt went up to required torque and hasn't fallen off yet!

i know this thread has been dead for a while but when the person said they had a tap with WF printed on it rather than it meaning Whitworth Fine could it not mean Whitworth Form.

its abit like WWF meaning World Wrestling Federation or World Wildlife Foundation.

ive poked my nose in i hope you wont bite it off

chris :P

Personally I prefer bacon to noses...... :D

Yes WF is Whitworth Form there is no such thing as Whitworth Fine it simply does not exist.... there are however Whitworth Specials WS or Whit S this covers all other pitches not covered by the generic Whitworth pitches.

Mind you I have never heard of a "world wildlife foundation" thread form though..... :P

I obviously should apologize for this error, the Thread is Whitworth Form. Not Whitworth Fine.
I have had numerous discussions with lots of mini experts and on various forums about this. And with 'EVERYONE ELSE' insisting it wasn't a whitworth thread !
If you look at the pic I uploaded right at the beginning from the manual it does in fact say whitworth form. So I may have been wrong in calling it fine (easy mistake when you used to dealing with UNF & UNC), but at least now you all know what the crankshaft thread is.
