Yep, through the center of the rear seat hole and the bottom of the front bulkhead hole. It's a little floor heavy but nothing that can't be managed.SolarB, have you put the post through the back seat panel to get it level?
The frame is 3 foot wide and is stable enough.

Not quite.absolute centre?
If I'd put the pole under the horizontal bar instead of above, it would have been nearer the CofG. With the current setup the car is horizontal but a few degrees of forward tilt wouldn't hurt.
Front mounting is as low as it can go.

great u mini looks in the same condition as mine, how level is your mini on the spit?,
your rear spit mount looks lower than most i've seen, but the mini looks pretty level...
