Hi, im new to the site, i was recommended it by someone on another forum.
Im busy restoring a 1985 mayfair which i think was originally silver but has been resprayed black. Its got a cream and brown interior. Im no stranger to restoration projects but minis are new to me, ive wanted one since i was a child. Hope you dont mind if i have to ask some basic questions.
Thanks - Ross

Thanks for the welcome  I was recommended by someone on xrtwo.com.
The minis in a bit of a sorry state at the moment, it needs inner and outer wings replacing and attention around the side jacking point which is a crumbly mess. The doors and bootlid are poorly sprayed and were originally green. The carpet in the drives footwell is also damp, i think its coming from around the air vent.
I went to the mini spares centre in harrogate and bought a couple of new panels, new headlights and front grill, braided hoses, new uprated shocks and a new front bumper.
any advice on what to do with it would be appreciated. my normal approach to modifying is to keep it standard visually and put a larger lump in with a mild state of tune.
