This just recently sold for about NZ$30 bit miffed I missed out on it.

The listing stated it was from a 60's cooper as an optional extra. not entirely convinced but very 'period' looking and would certainly look well placed on a mini dash.

sorry for the late reply,
i quite like this gauge how much is your mate looking for it?

also what would be handy is help with the wiring for it
does it have a plate where i can mount it or will it need an extra holder

Sorry it's not for sale he's had it since the seventies been in lots of his motors, was more in reply to dk's comment. Interestingly enough he did tell me he's seen a 2" rev counter as well.

If you are looking for a smaller tach, Smiths didn't make them... except for some very rare "sidesweep" (not round) ones.

Thanks for that also Nightrain.

Out of curiosity Nightrain, has your friend seen an in-dash 52mm Smiths tach? I expect the eBay item could only be used in its mounting pod since it has that external circuit board.

Yep said it was 2" standard size gauge, think your right about them needing to be used in the pod with all the extra circuitry.
