The reason that I don't constantly give advice out is that I know my own limits and only try and advise on things thing that I have actually done myself. Not things that I have read about, watched some else do.
I certainly don't claim to be a expert on everything and I have over 20 years of engineering experience and have been working on minis since I was 14 years old.
Giving out bad advice is DANGEROUS, and annoying to others. I'm sorry if I've offended you, but I really think it needs to be said.

Originally I wanted these speakers but I decided to go with 2 8" cerwin vega subs, not sure that was the best decision now. Roofless, is there any chance that you could send some images of the ex demo speakers you have in the speaker board? From your experience would you say that there's more bass from these speakers than most 8" subwoofers? Thanks
in answer to part 2 of the questions - dedicated bass drivers will always be better than 3 way 6' x 9's, but the new Vibe QB69's are very capable and actually fit under your seat. and face forwards.
in my cabby I eventually ran with 4 JL audio W3 6" bass drivers rather than the QB's, and they work real well, but are 3 times the price.
so based on budget and capability, I would highly recommend the blackdeath QB's with a good amp. Dont forget if you later upgrade to a dedicated 10 or 12 inch bass driver in the boot, you can revert to using these as a superb set of full range speakers.
I dont really see the need to send photos of the older QB's I have got, they are as new and ready to go. They work perfectly and any pics i send will just look like all the other photos you will have seen.
I can send a pic of the boards I make to house the speakers if you want? at least thats a bit different.

It looks amazing!!
I'll check current pricings tomorrow morning, I've got a near van-load of gear coming from vibe with some new pricelists promised by rep.

our new showcar will have 2 of these

Still in two minds yet, for most people the two Cerwin Vega's would be more than enough but I like a lot clear bass. I like the look of the black deaths but it depends on how far I can stretch my budget, there twice the price of what I paid for the CV’s so they would have to be good.
I started with vibe 6x9's in a speaker board, ok for bass but as speakers you couldn't really hear them that well in the speaker board. Has anyone mounted them in the parcel shelf, would they fit with those magnets?

Yeah that would be good, it's the board I wanted to see really just thought that the speakers were already fitted in. What you stated above was the plan that I am thinking of, a sub in the boot and those as really good speakers.

Sorry about that, somethings just get my knickers in a twist!!

I apologise for cluttering up your thread
Good luck with the speakers, Roofless knows his stuff and I'm sure he can help you.

No website as yet - I'm still working on it when i can.

Covics ( coventry in car services ) has been going for a number of years and is owned by John Adams. I recently helped john move to new larger premises where we now have a specialised workshop facility where john carries out his in car elecronics magic, and I basically make mess with GRP and filler

We also have access to all other brands including JL audio, Boston and Clifford, but we can be most compeatative on the MidBass ranges - Vibe and Fli being the 2 best.
We can also do some very good deals on Kenwood and Alpine.
John did the majority of work on Roofless, and he has had 2 other minis that he has created featured in Miniworld - making 3 feature cars in total - 2 of the cover cars.
Advertising and the web-site for COVICS will start appearing soon so hopefully people will be able to learn a lot more of what we do.
