I own a 2000 Cooper, i have a sony xplod head unit (nothing special) 4 X 45W and factory standard speakers, i was thinking about installing an active sub into my boot when ive got my liner kit in, i was wondering if this setup would sound ok, standard speakers and a sub?

P.S. Anyone know of any good/inexpensive active subs that will fit into my boot?

Cheers

if u put a sub in the boot u need to move the factory speakers off the rearshelf or box them in. Active subs aren't the best, may i ask why do u want a active sub?

I want an active sub because i dont want the hassle of wiring up amps/subs/speakers as i dont really know much about sound systems. Why would i have to remove the standard speakers? I want to keep my car as original as possible so i want to keep the standard speakers, i was hoping it would be possible to have the standard speakers and the active sub all running from my HU, ,and was wondering if its possible to do this and whether it sounds ok.

Cheers

If your not after superb sound quality, then Halfords do a VIBE FLI sub. its an active sub, 1000 watts Peak power, 12", And a very fancy box.

They are also covered in fluffy carpet rather than the felt stuff...

if ur after NO sound quality then go for the fli sub!lol The bass waves from the sub in the boot will destroy the factory speaker cones. to put it very simply.
