Right here we go again... Jacks Computer has been playing up again!

Basically logged on a minute ago, seemed different on start up.. EVERYTHING has gone, i had atleast 5000 photo's which i really needed, its just reset everything, passwords for forums/photobucket.

Opera settings have gone as well as my 'speed dials', programs i had on here and i really need it back.

I'd be happy with just the photos!

Its unusual for a computer to just 'delete everything'. More likely something has changed which means the OS doesnt know where the pics etc are. Or your user profile has reset.

What operating system are you running?

At the very worst case if everything really is ***** then you can always recover the photos with some data recovery software. Could do with a bit more info about your set up really

Where were the photos stored mate?
If you use my computer to browse to that folder are they still there?
Any remnants?

You may need a disk recovery program.
When stuff gets 'deleted' it's not really gone - the magnetic image stays on the harddrive until overwritten.
So it can be recovered.
Best not to defrag or move any large files about to avoid overwriting though.

Also, virus check?

They were stored in 'My Pictures' mate, just looked and there's nothing.

Are you logged in as the same user?

Each user gets their own "My Docs" and "My Pictures" etc.
Try looking in C:\Documents and Settings\

Are there any other users in there that you can explore to see if it's in there?

Edit: Do a search for *.jpg and see whether that finds anything.

Logged on to mine as usual, there are other members on here but they haven't been used in about 4 years!

Just had a look, its back to how it would be on first installation of Windows.

Piece of *melon*.

I'd love a Mac

That's so odd.
Did you do a search for *.jpg?

Hop into explorer, right click your drives and do properties. If the free space is virtually 100%, somethings messed with the main partition.
