I dont know how they look so good though because the metalwork they do is aweful to say the least, the same with Boyd Coddington RIP

All the American ones love their filler/bondo, watching all the people around the car sanding it back and getting killer lines is interesting
A lot of the filler/bondo they use after it is sanded will not be much thicker than the paint, it looks to be vast amounts but most of the filler gets sanded off as all it is doing is removing all the very slight imperfections and small dings and making sure the panel is perfect for the paint.

Does anyone know why he left Boyd and why Boyd hatted Chip so much in the end.
I think boyd had some crazy ideas and I can see why Charlie/Mike etc left to work with Chip.

The other interesting thing i like is if you watch American Hotrod, when the crap hits the fan there, the next episode they get fired, then switch over to Overhaulin and wayhey, chips employed them!
Chip has 'Mike' the cnc man (makes the wheels) and Charlie (the painter) on his team now. Not seen it for a while so he probably has a few more now! But yea, both of them had a falling out with the boss of American Hotrod and now with Chip.
Still, the foreman of American Hotrod was a classic, his attitude is just 'have it' lol.

I did read shortly after boyd had died that the reason chip and boyd parted company was down to the administrators when boyd went bankrupt.
If i can find someone near me with a scanner i will put up the full story which is quite an eye opening read, and not in a bad way.

I like Roy as well from American Hotrod, what a great person. Very talented in his craftsmanship. I understand he passed away a few years ago from Lung Cancer.
