1983 mini cooper rep, lots of mods.

The car had a full body re build 3 years ago, the body could do with a little tlc. There are a few bits or rust under the front lights and some spots of bubbling round the scuttle but apart from that it’s not to bad.
It is island blue with an English white roof.
It is running on 10" white mamber rims so cooper s front brake set-up non-servo.
Halogen front headlights
The engine is a 1380 with high lift cam and twin carbs.
Added front solid sub frame mounts, and 1.5-degree bottom camber arms; it has had the bulkhead modded for a turbo engine.
Full play mini stainless exhaust system, with LCB manifold, K&N filters, Front braided hoses to go on but not yet fitted.
Custom ally dash with speed temp and oil gauge. No rear seats, just carpeted.
Small Mounty steering wheel full toad cat 1 alarm and immobiliser, which makes insurance cheaper. it has alpine tape face off head unit with 6 disc multi changer and JBL mids under rear seat, with 12" magnat sub and alpine amp. the boot has been dynomatted.

The car orginally had a full roll cage with buckets and harnesses, but due to lack of funds, we mutually agreed to take out the seats and cage for a lower price.

Cant wait till sunday evening. Ive posted a pic before the seats etc came out.

What is that bonnet gap all about, ive seen it on a few minis now. Is it to do with Twin webber carbs or somthing, and that the air filter dosent fit under the hood?

Or is it for extra cooling?
