My mates goes to 7k rpm (Think it might be 8)

depends on the spec of the engine! A fully balanced engine is going to have higher reving capabilities.

In the Metro Turbo handbook i have, it says that it's ok to rev it to 6,250rpm on ocassion. Though i don't think you'll see any real power increase in revving it above about 5,500 on a standard Motor. A tuned motor's a different matter ......

It all depends on the cam and engine balance, same as the normaly aspirated engines
