I have had an experience recently that made me want to join this forum and warn those who may want warning.

I went to a local mini parts supplier called minispeed, located in byfleet in surrey. I couldn't believe how bad the service i recieved was. I walked in to find that there was no one in the shop, so i waited for a little while thinking someone would see me on the cctv. Nothing. So i rang the bell on the desk, heard footsteps from upstairs and a young chavy kid even opened the door from the back looked at me then disappeared! Without a word. So i'm about to leave when someone finally comes out. I say hello, and get no reply, just a blank stair. Then the man behind the counter begins to communicate with me seemingly only using grunts. All i wanted was some advice on a new needle for an engine i'd built that wasn't fueling properly! I told the grunting man what my engine was and what the mods were and he just walked off! Returning a minute later with some random needle that was far too big for what i needed!

In the end i just had to leave, i have never been anywhere which is so lacking in customer service!

Has anyone else had similar problems with this company?

Do you know what, i think you've hit the nail on the head with that one!

I take they aren't too popular if there has been a thread on them recently! Cant think why! :(

I'm amazed at the fact that it doesn't seem to be a one off event but how they are all the time. Unbelievable

I just use Minispares and wait a (short) while for things to arrive in huge boxes at work. :(

probably because they are stuck in the past, like the late 1950's when the first minis were made,
when britain didn't know what 'customer service' was...

More like stuck in the stone age, before speech was ever invented! Just a sequence of various pitched grunts!

oh dear, looks like if they carry on like this they will go out of business as the Mini community is quite close-nit, with word spreading rapidly. I've never used them, but having seen the volume of bad 'press' recently I'm not likely to.
