Just looking for suggestions for where to get a new throttle body for my mpi from?

I've just seen a 52mm one on the wood&pickett site but that was up at £160 plus VAT!

Has anyone see one for less? It can be a 48mm one I'm not too bothered.

Mine is a little warped and could do with replacing/upgrading.

Thanks!

amy

Not certain but they look the same as ones fitted to other rovers and petrol freelanders might be worth a trip to the breakers with a tape measure etc.

Don't get a Plastic one, particularly if it's been used!!!

Buy an alloy body - http://www.minisport...ottle_Body.html

Yep thanks for the suggestions and link but i definitely don't want another plastic one!

Forgot about mini sport, thanks nicksuth. Only a couple of quid more for the uprated alloy one on there too so I may as well get one of those. I'm not sure if the 52mm throttle body will do that much on it's own though :dontgetit:

I think you'll need some engine tweeks to make use of the 52mm Body, i.e. K&N Cone Filter, Roller Rockers, Ported/Polished Head, LCB, etc. etc., oh, and a PBV to adjust the fuel pressure? Mine also has the Icon Race Chip fitted to give that extra bit.

I had a k&n induction kit thingamijig fitted but swapped back to the original box last week as the noise was a bit too much for my ear drums as a daily drive! All the rest of that stuff is just words to me, I'm still learning I'm sorry. It all sounds very exciting though, maybe I'll get round to doing those sort of things in the future once I've learnt what they all are! :dontgetit:

I think a 52mm TB might just be too much for your engine? It's a 17% increase in size and might cause your engine to run too lean if the ECU can't handle it? Might be best to stick to the 48mm?

You might want to ask the "Sprocketmeister"??

Ah ok.

May have to do a little reading into this/aka ask "the sprocketmeister" guru before I buy the 52mm throttle body then methinks.

Cheers for the heads up!

This is probably best price for a 52mm throttle body

http://www.sucarb.co...l.aspx?Id=33121

After fitting it you will have to reset the throttle sensor, you may be able to do this by pressing the accelerator five times while the ignition is turned on.

I'm selling the 52mm Throttle Body in the classifieds and i've just put it on ebay. I'm asking £150 for it but i would be willing to negotiate to help you out, and for a quick sale.

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...ini...:1|294:50

Make me an offer and i'll see what i can do.

Regards
