Got it going earlier, new fuel, new batts in the radio gear. A few pulls and i burst into life. Not running very well though, will give it a tune up tomorrow. Unfotunatly the engine seemed to be moving away from the diff and damaging the spur gear. I'll sort it out tomorrow and take it up the sand dunes for a blast.
I run mine on 16% fuel anyway. ALthough it needs alot of adjustment the engine seems as strong if not stronger than ever. I never did realy know how to tune them when I was a kid.
Any ideas how I can stop the manifold nuts and bolts from undoing themselves? As soon as I ran it they seemed to undo.

they have three screws on the carb on ajusts low spead one mid and one top end, you mainly change the one sticking out upwards as this it the fuel mixture one. i belive i cnt rmber off the top of my head without looking at mine but ye basicly if oils up realy fast turn quarter of a turn to one directoin (cant rmber witch way) if gets worse turn half a turn the other way, then adjust from there the exhuast should be alitle smokey but not to much it shouldent oill up to fast on idle. it should idle for about a minute befor oils up and stalls always cheak it dosent over heat when ajusting fuel mix you can cheak this by spiting abit on the cooling head if the spit evaperates off in under 5sec's its most likely running to hot, this meaning the mixture is to lean if i am corect i prity sure it i am. there plenty of instructions on tuning r.c engines and its prity easy with practice. humidity and temp can affect engines one day it may be running amazing the next like crap they are very temprimental nitro model engines and always require tweaking...
also my manifolds have always been held on by springs wraped round the engine and hooked on to the manifold. this holds them tight up against a silicone seal, i always liked this type as it alows movement and vibration without coming lose. i have only ever had one of this type come lose when raceing my grass track buggy, because the engine overheated which made the spring stretch a littel. i replaced it and its always been fine since......
