my mini has 2 niggling problems,my fanbelt is loose and needs tightening,because it squeals
a bit when i start up,and the other problem is my MAP sensor wiring is loose or snapped
out of the back of it,is it best to replace the whole thing or just fix it somehow?

any ideas appreciated moz

Hey

For the fan belt there should be under the alternator a longish bracket with a slot all the way through it if you undo the bolt into the alternator and pull the alternator towards you it will tighten up

for the map sensor if the wires are broken you will probably need to replace the whole thing

when you say the map sensor wiring is broken are you talking about the black vac pipes that come from the bottom of the ecu and into the little black box (oil trap) and thn that come from there.... ?

im not sure,the map sensor is a liitle white plastic block to the right of the airfilter casing,just underneath it
it has a few black wires coming out of it,one has broken,probably due to engine rock!!

as far as i know the actual map sensor is inside your ECU........ can you pop a piccy on?

but i relise now that the wire thats broken is off the plug which plugs into it!!
