My car would not idle from cold due to the stepper not moving enough to open the throttle butterfly for the fast idle,changing this for a secondhand replacement cured this problem.

got a prob with my spi and cant put my finger on it, so just a process of elimination

So what exactly is wrong with your SPI?
Someone on here may have had the same problems and can help you out.

ok, just had a full rebuild on the engine 1380, head work, and a gearbox rebuild, off the road for a few months but before that everything was fine, running wise that is, fueling etc, now its throwing out black bits out of the tail which tells me its running way to rich tried the usual but still not sorted, also got a big flat spot when taking off in 1st, it just dies on me unless giving it big revs but dont want to keep that up as i am still running it in.
