i am putting my mini back together after fully restoring it and i was thinking that at the moment i am putting back the standard engine but i might want to replace the engine and put in a honda lump what would i need to do obtain to do this?
i have already fitted a flip front but would it need to be one of the extended fronts to give enough room for the honda lump to fit or will it fit in to the standard length?
would i need to upgrade the brakes i am fitting honda civic disk brakes to the front and standard drum brakes to the rear?
would i still be able to run on 10" wheels or so i need to go up in size??
what else do i need to get from donor honda car wiring etc
what else would i need to change from standard mini to uprated??
thanks for the help

The best way I can explain going Honda:
You know how in the Matrix, how Keanu Reeves has the option of taking the red pill or the blue pill? He would have woken up the next morning believing it was all a dream if he had taken the blue pill, but instead he took the red pill and opened Pandora's Box.
Honda conversions are the red pill.

Well: It can be done In a million different ways - you need to choose your own!
First you should ask yourself what are you missing up with your standard mini:
Is it not comfy enough?
Is it to much noise?
Maybe it's not reliable enough for your use,
Are you into racing your mini? If yes, what kind of racing - Day track? drag?
Than - with all those Q go into 16v forum and get inspired.
And a few more things:
Yes, you probably could use a 10' wheel - but you might find the brakes not strong enough (disc brakes it is) - no need for Honda brakes.
The best thing is to get a whole donor car and get the engine + engine loom + ecu as a start and than go your own way.
I hope I've helped you a bit.
Good luck.

also, it not just a case, of as you put a mini back together, you drop a honda lump in, its a MAJOR project that will take over your lifee like mine!! . and yes you need an extended front unless you want to spend big money on getting it in std nose.
