hey everyone

just registered so not really looked about yet but thought id post here before looking lol

so basically im looking into renting a garage lock up from my council(which is actually cheap as chips).im looking into generators also if it doesnt have power.im also a mechanical engineer so have all the necessary tools to hand and a portable mig welder that ill be using for the bodywork if its upto the job(if someone can tell me yes or no for this???)

im looking into a mini as a kind of project/track car.basically ill restore it to begin with and keep it standard(as far as the engine goes.hopefully a 1.3L)then ill move on to the engine mods

so what im really aking is what is there to choose from body style wise?and what would be easiest for a complete beginner to restoring cars?(im 18 by the way lol)and nicest looking lol.

also how much ££££ will it cost me in the long run.maybe a year or so i think.

thanks alot.sorry if its been asked loads

The injection mini can also offer a marked increase in power for relatively little money, also with the added benefit of not needing a full rolling road session after every modification!!

you wont get a pickup for that price, you need to be looking at the basic sprites/ mayfairs etc for that kind of money.

you idealy want a 75- 90 or so mini, anything older than that and its just not worth it, as these are worth money in standered form

for 500 quid your gona be looking at and 80's mayfair etc. they seem to go for cheap. the newer they are ie late 90's spi/mpi bit more money same as going the other way. pre 73 tax exeempt will bump up the price also.

Also there is a lot of information in the FAQ section, like bits about what to look for when going to look at a mini, etc. They should help you a lot :D .
